This week at Granger Chiropractic and nationally, it is #SpinalHealthWeek.
As part of the ACA’s new ‘Consider a Chiro’ campaign, we are asking Australians to consider a chiropractor when it comes to ailments such as back pain, neck pain and headaches. Spinal Health Week 2020 is a timely reminder for Australians to check in on their spinal health. Chiropractic care and other allied health professionals offer a range of clinical services which may be suitable for those who are living with pain.
Quick Health facts:
● The Institute of Health & Welfare estimates around 4 million Australians (16% of the population) have back problems. It is also estimated that 70–90% of people will suffer from low back pain in some form at some point in their lives and pain is the main symptom in most back problems.
● Up to 50% of people will experience neck pain at some point in their life and general practitioners are consulted seven times per week for neck pain.
● Headaches are one of the most common health-related conditions in Australia, according to the Victorian Government’s Better Health website around 15% of Australians take pain-relieving medication for a headache at any given time. That is over 4 million of us.
● Australian chiropractors are university trained and government registered practitioners that manage an estimated 21.3 million patient visits per year.
