With Christmas fast approaching, tis the season for travelling! This can mean change in routines and hopefully some relaxation. Below are out favourite tips for staying comfortable and pain free while away.
1. When driving long distance try to plan breaks for a quick stretch or walk every 2hrs. If you are already in pain try to stop every hour.
2. Use a lumbar support while driving – this encourages good posture and protects your low back from fatigue. If your car doesn’t have lumbar support, try a rolled up towel or you can purchase a Back Eze support.
3. Pack your own pillow. If possible take some of the comfort of home with you. Your neck and shoulders will be grateful for the familiarity.
4. Pack a massage ball or foam roller (if you have space). It’s very handy to have one of these tools with you so you can roll out and stretch after travelling. Even a tennis ball will do the trick to release some tension!
5. Similarly, if you are setting off a bit tender, pack a heat pack with you. This way you can keep your muscles warm and relaxed at your destination.
6. Try to stay mobile while on Holidays. It may not be as vigorous as your usual routine but even a 20-30min walk or stretch while you are away will keep things moving.
7. Enjoy!
