Over the Christmas break lots of us will be on the road to visit family and friends. Exciting as this is long periods in the car can be uncomfortable!
Try the following road trip tips to reach your destination pain free:
• Plan and take breaks at least every 2 hrs, if you already have low back pain try stopping every 1hr to 30mins
• Adjust seat height so hips are the same height as your knees
• Adjust the headrest so it rests in the middle of your head
• Allow a two finger gap between the seat and the back of your knees
• Use cruise control where possible
• Use lumbar support, if your vehicle doesn’t have one try using a rolled up towel in the small of your back
• Don’t drive with anything in your back pockets
• Travel with a spikey ball or massage ball
